Friday’s Bets

More later, but I suggest you take the 13/2 available about Moving In Style in the 1.05 Chepstow (Bet365) and, in the same race, where I am splitting my stakes equally, 16/1 with Coral about Dontminddboys. Both should shorten.

Moving In Style won in the style of an improving horse last time. He disappointed in the race before that, but connections blamed heavy ground. He’d been progressive and registered his best performance last time out. He’s been raised 9lbs but I’m expecting him to run well again.

Dontminddboys is a selection on the basis of good value, certainly at the 16s offered by Coral. He stayed on late after early trouble in running at Uttoxeter last time and this long Chepstow straight should suit if he runs the same kind of race here.

My final bet is Midnight Owle in the 3.50 Chepstow, a horse who showed his first real from last time out at Warwick. There’s no way of knowing why a 9-y-o suddenly finds the best run of his life from nowhere. All I can think of is that he gets on particularly well with Charlie Todd, the amateur who has ridden him the last twice. Todd claims 7 and has yet to ride a winner but he looks competent at the least, doing well to recover from a bad blunder at Warwick last time to drive Midnight Owle back into the race and finish second.

I have backed Midnight Owle single at 8/1 and also with Skybet at that price in a mixed each way double with my selections in the first race. Skybet pay the first 4 home in both races.

Good luck

Joe
