Two For The Sussex National: 10/1: 20/1

2.40 Plumpton January 5th

Uallrightharry is on the up and I’d expect him to keep improving. His Achilles heel is late errors. He’s blundered at the final fence in his last two outings. He unseated last time but recovered the time before to win. His technique in general is sound. It might be his concentration that goes in the late stages and perhaps he needs the jockey to make more of a hand in organising him.  Anyway, he seems good value at the 10/1 on offer.

Even better value to my eye is Sackett who was running consistently well through the summer over fences. His debut for the winter months was in November at Chepstow over hurdles where he led pretty much until two out before dropping away, the race having done its job of giving him a good blow. Most of his decent form is on good ground (it’s soft, heavy in places at Plumpton). But he was winning form on soft ground. Usual rider Bryony Frost rides and will probably try to lead all the way. I think she has a much better than 20/1 chance of doing that.

Summary

240 Plumpton

Uallrightharry 10/1 win only 1* bet

Sackett  20/1 to 4 places with Paddy Power. Bet EW. 1*

Good luck. Most tipsters are unreliable and inconsistent, including me. Don’t bet more than you can afford to lose with a smile – whatever the source of the tip.

All the best
Joe
