Apologies for the latest bad news in what’s been a grim season for my tips. Sizing John suffered a new injury today – nothing to do with the one that kept him off so long, though that is no consolation to the horse’s connections nor to those of us who’ve backed it. He’s out for the season. He’ll be almost 11 when he comes back, and his chances of another big prize have probably gone.
I’m determined to get the blog back into profit before the end of the NH season in April. Have faith.
All the best.
Joe
No problem Joe,
Still up from Beware the Bear last March.
I always find your analysis hugely informative.
Keep up the good work.

Hello Joe This is what the vicissitudes of fortune means. Comes from a word meaning “by turns” meaning an alternation. We tend to use it in a negative sense, but by the same meaning, it goes in the other direction. It’s just a question of waiting for the next turn. It’s inevitable and I am confident. Tom
