Talking Horses Saturday 26/06/21

I have no in-depth knowledge of flat racing, but starting today I will put up one horse to bet each day until the end of the season. Doubtless it will end in tears.

Anyway, why don’t you do the same using the comments section? I won’t be recording these for profit and loss, but please feel free to do so.

Today I’m tipping Khuzaam in the 2.20 Newcastle

Good luck.

  1. Looking forward to the government sleaze stakes tomorrow, o virus it is a stayers event…

    Porked the payroll 6/4
    Jobs for the boys 3/1
    Jobs for the girls 7/2
    Just like the boss 9/2
    Driving blind 12/1
    Personal integrity 100/1

  2. I like the idea Joe! Il stick my Tupence worth in!

    Alright sunshine 12-1 EW
    3.30 Northumberland Plate
    Plenty places offered !

  3. Today’s unlucky 15:Newcastle 2.20 Diligent Harry; Newmarket 3.15 Motakhaayel; Curragh 3.45 Hurricane Lane; Chester 3.20 Cairn Island. Unfortunately tough night at work and lack of time means can’t provide the twisted logic behind the lucky dips. All the best everyone.

  4. Grandmaster Flash in the Plate…Joseph O’Brien’s only runner in the UK today (as far as I can see), 11/1 or so…..good luck with your bets.

  5. I like the idea of this. It would good to see everyone’s reasoning. I’ll try and add something before the races start. If I don’t get a chance, I’ll definitely post tomorrow. Thanks Joe.

    1. Thanks Dan. Like you, I’m a sucker for analysis when putting bets up, but I wanted to make this more a ‘fun’ thing where you can just stick one up and nowt else if that’s your preference, although workings are always welcome.

      1. That sounds good too. I’ve split stakes on Rock Melody and Dessert Dreamer. Didn’t have much time to look at form today but I checked speed ratings and picked these because of the prices. Didn’t look at much else.

  6. I think MacSwiney e/w is good value bet / bit of a free swing as I’ll be v surprised if he doesn’t make the frame

  7. I’m with Greg on TH, dubious affair 3:30. That’s a hell of a lot of extra weight the favourite is carrying. Good luck all.

  8. Just because there’s always a mug….. I’m going for Lexington Dash 13.45 Newcastle. There are others too numerous to mention, (and to avoid embarrassment)

  9. Workings from the above selection –
    Alright sunshine.

Ran a decent enough race at its only start in Newcastle in the Segaro stakes in 2020.
That day was level weights as was a Group 3. Also came off a very long break of 8 month. Keith dalgliesh yard are in form after a treble at Carlisle mid week and the horse has won a decent race at Hamilton (a very stiff track) on its last start.
I’d say this would have been a plan for the season and it now gets buckets of weight from those he ran behind last year in the segaro.

Drawn high I don’t see an issue as the horse is regularly held up. Hoping for the win but 6 places paid in some bookies and I think this one is still well Handicapped.

As a side note having done a bit more looking – Cairn island runs at Chester in the 3.20. It’s been dropped a Lb for a good run behind Creative force. Have a look for yourself as to how that race has turned out. I would imagine there is more to come from this 3 yo.
    9/4 is fair

    Good luck all 🙂

  10. Cadamosto to win and The Entertainer to place at The Curragh 3.15. Then a Dubious Affair, Woven with the Majestic Dawn.

    Greetings from Quarantine!

      1. Not on WHill, Joe. Thanks for asking. I ended slightly up on the day, mainly because I followed two tips from BW: Dalton’s Highway and Romantic Proposal. Also put a free bet on Raymond (placed at 14s). This week, though, I have shown a small loss every single day.
