Awful accident at Hamilton yesterday. I was told last night that the injuries to Robbie Cotgrave and Kit Campbell were not life threatening. Let’s hope the lads recover fully.
Onto today where my nap runs in the 2.45 Thirsk: Zagato at evens.
I look forward to seeing your nap.
Good luck
Joe
It’s shorties from the tracker for me today. The nap is Rodrigo Diaz in the 7.05 at Kempton from that most ‘astute’ of trainer Simcock, aided by the magic hands of Frank. I know, I can’t look myself in the mirror now! Win bet, with multiples on Braveheart’s Tadreeb (Musselburgh 3.30) and Zagato in the 2.45 at Thirsk.

Well done, Joe. Good winner. That and another (old favourite, Toofi at Brighton), saved me from bankruptcy on the day. I am not cut out for napping as I use a scattershot approach looking for marginal gains overall.

Key Lock in the 15:20 @Thirsk. Has to reverse form with the favorite, but if away quicker could do it and well drawn.
Racing returns to Tampa Bay Downs today for the end of season meeting with tomorrow being the start of season (although next meeting isn’t until November. Weather forecast today is hot with a high of 30C and afternoon thunderstorms i.e. usual Florida summer weather. 5 of the 9 races are scheduled on the turf, but heavy rain may cause the turf races to be run on the dirt which usually causes a significant number of non-runners. At time of writing, I intend going and get a chance to wear my new Panama hat which I recently purchased on my recent visit to England.
I thought the sporting highlight yesterday was the TdF Stage victory for Mark Cavendish (noted several Guardian THers also contribute to the Cycling threads too). At 36 years of age, various illnesses etc to achieve this bought an outbreak of pollen related dampness to my eyes.

Today’s nap in Kind Witness in the 3.05 at Worcester. He’s an experienced pointer and I think the lovely long bends by the Severn will suit a lot better than Newton Abbott last time.
