Talking Horses Monday July 12th 2021

The blog’s nap yesterday, Valloria, put up by Harrytheactor, was 4th. Those choosing 33/1 EW with Bet365 had a good day.

The story of the new week though is series two of last week as far as RobJ is concerned. Rob napped 16/1 winner Inflection Point at Fairyhouse. Rob is running up a remarkable set of naps and tips and must be followed.

Nobody else claimed a winner yesterday among the posters.

There was some good banter too about the football, which branched off into a couple of tributaries. I think what we need is a Lounge Thread where non horse racing subjects can be chewed over. Let’s keep this daily thread to horse racing only, please. To find the Lounge thread, just search Lounge in the box on the top right.

Today’s blog nap is Cotai Hero in the 6.05 at Lingfield at 2/1

Good luck

  1. Was on the Bet365 33/1 first 4 places. A fine effort !
    Rob is on fire !
A massive chance missed by England. So negative after a great start.

  2. Morning all. The nap is LA PETITE COCO, Killarney 7.15. Backed with two at Newton Abbot – KILMINGTON ROSE, 2.20, and ELIOS D’OR, 3.30.

      1. I’ve gone for Pilbara, (but beware. It’s only because I used to have long email conversations with the trainer’s father about Material World.)

  3. I’m at Killarney races today and tomorrow. First time since… Thanks for any and all Killarney tips! Looking forward to seeing live horseracing again and taking actual cash from a bookie!

    1. Good for you Comartun and I hope you have a good time. I would put up La Petite Coco, but the money’s come for the horse, 11/8 last night, in to 4/6!
I think Quaidesbrumes has found you one in Magic Carousel who finished just over 2 lengths behind the Royal Ascot winner Create Belief. Shaza is of interest in the same race, but has probably got too much weight this time.

      1. I was born and raised in Tralee, so I know and love the place. I hope you’re making some money off the bookies!

        1. I’m the other end of the county. Had a couple of winners so far. Hopefully La Petite Coco brings home my double.

          1. Well done with La Petite Coco.
A 4/9 chance may not seem much but when it is a double it is pretty much like 9/4.
And the rain has stayed away.
P.Twomey was a man of interest to sorrymess but I found he switches allegiances and is more interested in the Gulfstream Fixtures right now.

            1. Only been “home” to Listowel once. Will hopefully get to go there someday soon.

Went to The Listowel Arms a couple of times. Very nice place in a lovely part of the world.

  4. Festival Racing is Bookie Paradise. Even worse is Irish Festival Racing. I saw Lester Piggott ride in Killarney. I wouldn’t want to be there today though as the town roundabouts took me an hour to negotiate last month with all the Staycationers passing through. There is bypass work that has just started about 3 decades overdue. My advice for anyone travelling right now is to drive straight through the town and keep away from the endless peripheral roundabouts.
I keep hands in pockets at Irish Festivals but surely Horoscope can’t screw up the 17.15?

  5. I was looking for a football related nap today but as “timid bastard” and “shouldntdothattoateenager” are both non runners, I am having a sentimental nap (acceptable at my age) on This Breac Newton Abbott 4.05. Jimmy knows how to get one ready and I reckon this could be a nice welcome back gift to his daughter. Hardly any science or analysis has gone into this assessment!!

  6. The one festival I wager in is the Dublin Festival of Racing. Incredible racing and I hope to be there next year. Horoscope did ok at this level and 15/8 was relatively generous.

  7. Please update if you have napped or tipped a winner today so I can put tomorrow’s Hitlist together. Just reply to your own original post with result and price. Many thanks. Joe
