Talking Horses Thursday July 29th Goodwood Day 3

Hitlist: Simon Thompson back with a huge bang yesterday napping Magical Wish who won at 12/1; fantastic tipping. David remains in fine form, landing his nap Royal Rendezvous at 5/1 and also tipping 7/4 Perth winner For Three. Great work, David, Keep them coming.

The blog’s nap was rainstormed into a non runner at Sandown. Today’s nap is Yibir in the 3.00 Goodwood.

As ever, leave your naps and tips in the comments section and don’t forget to post your. winners in the July Winners thread.

Good luck

  1. An e.w double on Empress Josephine in the 15.35 at Goodwood and Cape Gentleman in the 18.15 at Galway is my nap.

    1. Actually I wish to throw away that nap to include e.w. Doubles with Dingle in the 13.50 along with the above two. Didn’t see the Horse with a name from the town that has kept People living in Cork marginally sane over some of the last 18 months.

      1. I do tend to overthink things back home 😉

And thanks to Bacciodilupo, Savoieblue and Joe for their comments.

  2. Had a quick look at TH on the Guardian, a lot of moderated comments, including one from Mjw 1959 in response to quaidesbrumes, I can only imagine what was said!! No mention of Galway races…

    1. Michael was obviously a bit pissed off about being proven, yet again (and again, and again) to be an idiot for continuing to be Frank’s number one fan. Plus ça change, said Quai.

      1. Layout of leaving name different from phone – read before you press – now Auldchiel will have everyone emailing him.

        1. Auldchiel,

I’ve passed your details on to my mate who is a Nigerian prince.

He’s got a great deal on a load of gold if you wanna get involved 🙂

      2. One eyed Mick is a bit of a prick
He dreams of a love in with Jamie
        He talks utter shite
        Always up for a fight
But his comments are all a bit samey!!

        I’m wasted on here!

  3. I remember Dilton mentioned Bondi Man after its first race at Chepstow. So I’ll go with that in the 7.05 at Epsom. Doubling up with Fantasy Master in the last at G’wood.

  4. Ebro River for me in the 2.25. Other Goodwood selections (hopefully you’ve avoided any of the previous two day’s ‘selections’) are King Frankel, Third Realm, Lady Bowthorpe, Mayfair Stroll, Silverdale, Twilight Calls

    1. Lovely . Used to go most years when I lived in Brighton . Cannot think of a lovelier place to be in the sun . Have a good day

    2. Went quite a bit when I lived in Chichester – beautiful course. Not done me any favours this week though….
I’ll Nap Perfect Power in the 2.25 GD if no-one else has?

  5. Enjoy Ribicheaux – if I could pick id be at Stratford today where i’ll go for Air Hair Lair in the 3.55 as the nap. Not sure i’ve picked a Goodwood winner this week so keeping well away from there.

  6. I added SILVERDALE to my tracker after his very promising first run at Newbury a few weeks ago and he is my nap for today in the 16:45 at Goodwood (Currently 11/1)

I am hoping Belfast Banter will continue to help recover some of the ante post losses on his Grandsire Simply Great in the 18:15 at Galway.

I see the owner of Alcohol Free was also the owner of Chief Singer who I remember successfully betting on many years ago. Chief Singer was of course beaten by EGS in the 2000 Guineas no doubt to the considerable profit to at least one member of this forum.

  7. Well done those who have been In about the winners!

    5.20 goodwood NAP
    – Whendealisdone 7-1 EW 5 places

    3.00 Wandsworth 7/2 NB

    4.45 Wilderness girl 9/4

  8. A speculative nap today, unlike all my other ones of course!! I like a Portman 2 year old at Newbury or Goodwood and as he has Silverdale in the 4.45 which debuted at the former and now goes at the latter, that will do for me. Hopefully the penny drops a little faster today!!

  9. Some great tipping yesterday and so far today! Today’s NAP is Bold Enough in the 5.45 Galway, 4/1 or so… a mention for Tudor City in the 6.15 , e/w at 20/1 or so…must come good again at some point, Tony Martin/Bryan Cooper…anyway, we’ll see!

  10. I am with Dirty Northerner’s Belfast Banter in the 6.15 at Galway, but also in the same race Thosedaysaregone ew pay 7 on Skybet. (SP rather than price as I have been caught recently witn much shorter odds than the SP).
