Talking Horses Monday August 2nd 2021

Hitlist: A fine end to a great week for Luke of Reinitinracing grabbing his 7th Galway winner with 5/1 nap Current Option. So far, Reinitinracing have 3 winners in three days on the blog. Mickle continues his good form from Saturday with 5/4 nap Nuance. And Dirty Northerner‘s clean pair of heels nap was Come On Teddy at the great old price of 100/8 – 12/1 in today’s money. A confident nap it was too; excellent work DN.

The blog’s nap joined its recent predecessors in the bin, so I can only hope that today’s selection shows a bit more zest. I’m going for the unbeaten Ger Lyons horse Sacred Bridge in what I was astounded to see was a 300,000 Euro race on a quiet Monday afternoon – the 2.25 Naas.

As ever, your naps and tips via the comments section, please. Your post-racing successes in the August Winners Thread.

Good luck

  1. A few for a Monday –

D Omeara generally does well putting blinkers on his horses. Puts them on Musahaba in the 2.53 Newcastle. If they help this one concentrate then he may get in the 3 at 9-1
The race is not the strongest by any means.

Total commitment was my Stewards cup bet at 40-1 and he rocks up at Windsor in the 6.45 only a few days later. May be a bit Risky but he has been backed up quickly before and done ok. 15/2 EW 5 places

    Ew Double pays 60-1+

    1. Blinkers did the job. Solid 2nd place 9-1 advised. 7-1 SP. The winner just had a bit more in the tank.
Also one NR which was not really a surprise given the run at weekend.

  2. Ummed and Ahhed at your one DNB, as I quite liked the (eventual) 2nd, then I had to take them all to the beach so ‘blindly’ followed – 12/1 captured too! Cracker mate – great NAP 🙂

    1. Thanks Craig. Teddy had to be backed after finishing so well last time out. I’ll take another look at the horse if it’s entered at York this month alongside the consistent MR WAGYU,

      1. Was gutted about Mr wagyu at the weekend, having previously tipped him on here we at 20s the race before, I was going to back him at the weekend and at the last minute decided against it. 🤦

        1. Sorry to hear this. I’ve backed the horse most runs, it’s damned consistent. Threw in a bad run 3 or 4 ago and I thought the run was over. Very decent win on Saturday, York next, I hope.

        2. I should also add that my second horse today CAPOTE’S DREAM beat MR WAGYU by a short head last time out.

  3. The horse I have been waiting for runs in the 2.25 at Naas. BOSH is the nap, backed last night at 10s, win and each way.
Also backed is CAPOTES DREAM at 4s at Windsor 7.45 – win bet and doubled with BOSH.

  4. An EW nap today at 9 to 1. Round the Island at Carlise 5.25 with Megan Nichols up on the interesting female jockeys night they hold there.

  5. Good luck on the nap DN, if it comes in I hope you’ll be bathing in asses milk (or Brunello di Montalcino) .

The 10/1 is long gone. Was 15/2 early doors this morning and is now 9/2 having touched 4’s.

In terms of nap I’ll plump for Golden Bugle in the 3:50 at Kempton.

    1. It’s now 3s in places. 17/2 available around 7.30/8.00. I’ve had a lump on, looks like others have also. Whatever the outcome, it’s one to follow.

      1. Had a bit in Myself got 7s 4 places when you put it up.

Money has come for Ever given also. I seen on start sports blog there was a 80K ew landed on him at goodwood! Who ever it was might fancy another swing as they won Over 400K!

            1. Aye. BOSH was the last to come off the bit to my eyes, saw the race out well and was going on at the end. I’m not saying he would have caught the winner (who is decent and in fancy races) but he’s worth following. Win stake was saved by the EW bet.

              1. Well done DN regardless v good e/w shout (and well done Joe). Had a bit e/w at 17/2 so made a bit but gave it back with my NOPE of the day.

  6. The 6:45 at Windsor looks a cracking race. Edraak won last time out beating Tinto, who is weighted to come out more favourably this time but was below par in the Stewards Cup. Edraak hasn’t ran for 49 days and he did bleed after the race. He has gone up 6lbs for that to 100 and he’s an extremely consistent horse so it wouldn’t be surprising if he put in a bold bid here. His stablemate Zim Baby also has claims.

    1. I too was going to select Edraak, but based on losing so many races as a child on the board game Totopoly due to a burst blood vessel while leading rounding the final bend I am forced to give him a miss. In addition, since he bled from the nose I am also reminded of a school football match when in an unsuccessful attempt to clear the ball of the line I managed to knee myself in my nose causing copious amounts of blood to pour from said appendage. Nowadays I struggle to raise my knees above my hips. As past readers of my past posts already know I also have an irrational fear of sand based on the film Ice Cold In Alex.

My nap is RAMBERT in the 21:33 at Colonial Downs (ML 4-1).

  7. I hope you are all making fortunes by laying my tips. What a service I am providing from the kindness of my heart.
I don’t want your sympathy when I tell you that I actually back these Horses.
My nap today is an e.w. Naas double on The Algarve in the 13.15 who is drifting even as I write and Slamadoor in the 15.30.
Like Joe’s tip Sacred Bridge, The Algarve is also unbeaten.
