Talking Horses Tuesday August 10th 2021

Exciting news for the Talking Horses community: the syndicate filly has now been bought and is safely in the ownership of syndicate members. Well done Dirty Northerner and Dilton for organising everything. More details on the Syndicate thread.

Bacciodilupo not only blitzed onto the August Hitlist yesterday but looks to have saved the blog’s bacon with Oscer Romero, his winning nap advised at 7/1 (11/2 SP). Thanks and well done Bacciodilupo. If I’ve missed anyone, please give me a shout via the August Winners thread.

The blog’s nap Come On Linda was third, but if you keep a tracker you might want to add her. Her young jock W.Pyle learned more in yesterday’s race than he will in a dozen others.

The nap today is Yagood at 2/1 in the 3.00 Nottingham.

As ever, please leave your naps/tips by making a comment below. All welcome, especially newcomers; just enter a name when asked so we know who is who. No prizes, but it’s good fun here among some seasoned punters, most of whom spent years commenting at the Guardian on the original Talking Horses forum, which has now been heavily cut back.

If you tip a winner, please use the Winners thread to highlight your result and we’ll put you on the Hitlist next day. There is a Winners thread for each month.

We also have a Lounge thread for general chat, though as a forum we are a bit limited to what WordPress, our host here, provides as far as structure goes.

Thanks for looking in. Good luck with your bets today, but please bear in mind that this is meant to be ‘fun’. There are many wise heads posting tips here and we haven’t yet gone a day without somebody tipping a winner. But never bet more than you can afford to lose. Small stakes can still produce wide smiles.

All the best

  1. Tremendous news about the filly.
Very best of luck to all connections !
    Nap. Typewriter, Nottingham 2.25. 9/4.

  2. Well Joe we would not be here without your astute management of this site. So a big thank you. Come racing with us when she runs!

  3. No nap tomorrow. Out of it after today. The Bastards falling in love with horses, but Dilton will give me a slap and sort me out.

  4. Really pleasing to watch you all get a syndicate together! I’d love to have been part but we’re entering a phase of renovating barns on our land so money pit is there all ready, not that a syndicate horse will cost too much for you all, and hopefully provide you with much excitement and hopefully joy!

I part owned back in the day, and although the horse was useless, it was a great memory and well worth the investment in many ways. Trainer info is always interesting!

We were with Andy Haynes when he’d just got Conkwell. I don’t think he’s training anymore. A lovely guy, and we all made a few quid with Border Castle winning the Scottish National and a horse called Poppets Lovin coming home at 16/1.

    Good luck to you all!!!

  5. Great news 🙂 looking forward to the days we have ahead!

Bit of fun tomorrow and a leaf out of joes book with the skybet perms.

Skybet EW trixie on 3 races at Nottingham. A few pennies on
With lots of places on offer.

    3.00 Bailarico 13/2
    4.45 Enchanted Night 14/1
    5.20 Hy Eales 9/2

  6. Three Tracker horses have stirred me into a small bet after all. There are two in the interesting 1.25 at Deauville – GREEN FLY and ANCIENT ROME, 7/4 and 15/8 respectively, and I just favour the latter as Fabre is in a rich vein of form. However, the nap is ASAD ZABEEL, at 5/2, Dax 3.27

Members will be getting an update today. There is about 15% of shares left in our filly, and the costs will be lower than at first proposed.
So if you are interested and want further details please contact me at:-

If you are unable to join on this occasion, I hope there will be further opportunities in the future.

Thanks to all for their support and interest.

  8. It is becoming the right time of year for Tarboosh 3.35 Nott @ 9/2 to hit form so he is the nap.Well done to Bacciodilupo on a good nap yesterday.

  9. I now notice a few NAPs for the 3.00 Nottingham…. I have selected my EW NAP in the same race……Koi Dodville 9/1. First time in a flat handicap (4 runs over hurdles), David Pipe, Adam Kirby…

    Poor fare today.

  10. As mentioned poor fare today…like ones that finish in the top 3 at Pontefract if it was their previous race…checking the theory with Bondi Girl EW Nap Nott 13:55
