Robicheaux looks to be easing into a nice line of form, landing a nap yesterday and a separate tip for Nebo, advised at 16/1, winning at 15/2. The nap Typewriter won at 15/8. Great work, Robicheaux.
Alan still on the Hitlist too with his EW nap Dartington, 3rd at 7/1. Well done, Alan. The blog’s nap was 4th. The nap today is Gainsbourg. 2/1; I’m hoping he’ll come with a late Serge in the 4.20.
If I’ve missed anyone, please give me a shout via the August Winners thread.
As ever, please leave your naps/tips by making a comment below. All welcome, especially newcomers; just enter a name when asked so we know who is who. No prizes, but it’s good fun here among some seasoned punters, most of whom spent years commenting at the Guardian on the original Talking Horses forum, which has now been heavily cut back.
If you tip a winner, please use the Winners thread to highlight your result and we’ll put you on the Hitlist next day. There is a Winners thread for each month.
We also have a Lounge thread for general chat, though as a forum we are a bit limited to what WordPress, our host here, provides as far as structure goes.
Thanks for looking in. Good luck with your bets today, but please bear in mind that this is meant to be ‘fun’. There are many wise heads posting tips here and we haven’t yet gone a day without somebody tipping a winner. But never bet more than you can afford to lose. Small stakes can still produce wide smiles.
All the best
Joe
Nap. Mikmak. Bev 4.55 2/1.

Tomorrow I make my first covid/post-covid (not sure which is accurate) visit to the races. Beverley it is. Gainsbourg is the nap (sorry Joe) and the fate of On The River, Ana Gold, Eeh By Gum, Selsey Sizzler, Mikmak and Transition as well as Gainsbourg will decide my financial fate (though it’s not impossible that the train journey perusal of the Racing Post might elicit some alternatives).

I was thinking of heading down to Beverley myself, but alas I’m going to be too busy. Good weather for it though! Enjoy yourself.

2 winners, 3 would have been decent, weather fine. Good day all in all,

So the nap is CREATE BELIEF at evens with Paddy, Leopardstown 6.30. Take a look at the horses colours and if you are in the syndicate – forget them. In multiples and win bets with SHAMIYANA 3/1 Leopardstown 4.30 and AOB’s INTERPRETATION at 6/4 in the 7.00.
If the latter does not run well, there is something amiss at Ballydoyle – bug?
Finally, I will be at York next week and I cannot forget the blistering pace and demolition of a field caused by MUMS TIPPLE. If the horse is suspect, she would have been shipped out – 16/1 tomorrow?

My nap is an e.w. double of Madonnadelrosario in the 16.30 and Military Style in the 18.30 at Leopardstown.
Is it a practical joke that Interpretation is 11/8 in the Vinnie Roe at 19.00 when Ballydoyle cannot punch it’s way out of a paper bag?
The Irish Racing website tells me I was down -44.50 off a level one euro stake in the past 21 days if backing every APOB runner but doesn’t mention the true horror of doing this for 42 days.

After I quiet few days with disappointing naps I’ll try turn the tide with Windsor Pass in the 6.00 at Leopardstown. Just denied by I Siyou Baby last time out, pull in the weights will hopefully see Windsor Pass get the job done.

After yesterday’s irritation with the going description at Ffos Las, when it went from god/good to firm to good/good to soft between race 1 and race 2, today they are describing it as good despite the fact that there was more rain overnight. Ffos has a typical W Wales heavy clay subsoil and is slow to drain although Dai Walters hugely improved it over the years. I’m not sure current owners Arc would have spent a fortune on the turf like he did to his pride and joy. Anyway, I expect it to make a print today. The 14f handicap (1.35) is an intriguing affair with a Prescott horse Summer’s Knight at a shade of odds-on. I think he will like the surface less than Hannon’s Reverend Hubert who ran in the same Haydock Class 2 race when Summer’s Knight came second at a surprising 16/1. Hubert is better off at the weights today and as the Prescott horse hasn’t returned a speed figure to get excited about as yet, Revd Hubert (nap) is the one for me at 11/4.
