Talking Horses Friday August 13th 2021

Plenty of winners for the Hitlist after our specialists hit their targets yesterday. Stonor’s Nap SILENT FLAME 2.55 advised at 2/1, won at 6/4, and his NB L’OPERATEUR 4.25 advised at 5/1, won at 3/1. Great work, Stonor.

Bacciodilupo nappedI SIYOU BABY which won at 9/2. Good to see you back, Bacci.

Robicheaux is still bang in form with his nap Mikmak victorious (advised at 2/1). Keep ’em coming Robicheaux.

Dirty Northerner landed his nap with Create Belief, 1/1 and added Interpretation for good measure. Fine work, my friend.

And David is still going well napping 5/1 winner The Beautiful Game. Well done, David.

If I’ve missed anyone, please give me a shout via the August Winners thread.

The blog’s nap was unsighted. Today’s will be posted prior to the start of racing.

As ever, please leave your naps/tips by making a comment below. All welcome, especially newcomers; just enter a name when asked so we know who is who. No prizes, but it’s good fun here among some seasoned punters, most of whom spent years commenting at the Guardian on the original Talking Horses forum, which has now been heavily cut back.

If you tip a winner, please use the Winners thread to highlight your result and we’ll put you on the Hitlist next day. There is a Winners thread for each month.

We also have a Lounge thread for general chat, though as a forum we are a bit limited to what WordPress, our host here, provides as far as structure goes.

Thanks for looking in. Good luck with your bets today, but please bear in mind that this is meant to be ‘fun’. There are many wise heads posting tips here and we haven’t yet gone a day without somebody tipping a winner. But never bet more than you can afford to lose. Small stakes can still produce wide smiles.

All the best

  1. My nap is a JPOB e.w. double on Orinoco River in the 16.25 and Twilight Payment in the 19.00 at the Curragh.
Needless to say the only time I did not back any of the last 100 runners from Ballydoyle actually won the Vinnie Roe Stakes yesterday. I will bide my time and after their next 99 consecutive losers will return to default mode but not before then.
I have had a small e.w. saver on Dogged in the 16.30 at Newbury.
If he ever faced Capitulation who was 3rd yesterday at Leopardstown I wonder who would buckle first.

  2. The nap is the young master’s VISUALISATION 11/2, the Curragh 6.00. This is in two EW doubles today, first with AOB’s AMHRAN NA BHFIANN 8/1 the Curragh 7.00. The horse ran a shocker last time out over here, but previously demolished a field at the CURRAGH. Win bets and EW double. Then the other interest is BARRINGTON COURT 12/1 the Curragh 7.00, EW bet and double with VISUALISATION.

I have been waiting for JOB’s horse to reappear after Ascot and I went a stage further a couple of days ago by linking the horse with the admirable MR WAGYU in the Great St.Wilfred tomorrow – 10’s was taken.

    Good luck to all.

    1. Great job David. Unfortunately I was still counting my winnings from Twilight Payment (thanks EGS) and then got an email about the syndicate that I was reading intently and missed the off. I’ve wished I missed the off on most occasions, but not this time.

  3. Today’s NAP is CLUAN DARA EW at 12/1 or so 5.45 Tramore. Bryan Cooper’s only ride there , the horse was 2nd in this race last year. Who knows, he might remember the track and go one better!!
