A cracking nap Farasi Lane at 13/2 keeps new poster Paul Romain right on the Hitlist. Paul also had 2 placed in his EW Lucky 31 at 9/1 and 8/1. Nice work, Paul.

Dirty Northerner landed a nice place double too with Cormier and Give It Some Teddy. Alan too had a big priced place double with the unlucky Cormier at 17/2 and Lucky’s Dream 33/1. Well played, gents.

Rob J unsurprisingly remains in form, a losing nap offset with two winners – the NB winning at 6/4 and Czech Her Out advised at 8/1 EW. Rob also advised EW on Tommy G and Yagood, placed at 10s and 9s. Well done, Rob.

On catch up from Saturday I missed Paul Romain’s excellent EW patent (one let him down for the Lucky 15) – VILLE DE GRACE 14/1, ROBERTO ESCOBARR 16/1 and LUCANDER 10/1. A tidy place payout, Paul.

Again the blog’s nap ran well enough – no hard luck stories, but didn’t trouble the judge. I will post today’s before racing.

If I’ve missed anyone, please give me a shout via the August Winners thread.

As ever, please leave your naps/tips by making a comment below. All welcome, especially newcomers; just enter a name when asked so we know who is who. No prizes, but it’s good fun here among some seasoned punters, most of whom spent years commenting at the Guardian on the original Talking Horses forum, which has now been heavily cut back.

If you tip a winner, please use the Winners thread to highlight your result and we’ll put you on the Hitlist next day. There is a Winners thread for each month.

We also have a Lounge thread for general chat, though as a forum we are a bit limited to what WordPress, our host here, provides as far as structure goes.

Thanks for looking in. Good luck with your bets today, but please bear in mind that this is meant to be ‘fun’. There are many wise heads posting tips here and we haven’t yet gone a day without somebody tipping a winner. But never bet more than you can afford to lose. Small stakes can still produce wide smiles.

All the best
Joe

    1. Paul,
Just two days of tipping winners non-stop on this forum and you are tired!
I grind out losing tips day in day out in all kinds of weather and never get tired.
I must admit the next few days are very low brow and I await the Curragh on Friday.
The Steelman makes a good case for Rule The World in the 5.15 at Ballinrobe today so I am borrowing his nap.
I think this nap should appear his post.

      1. Appear ABOVE his post which it has.
I wish I hadn’t acknowledged the source of that nap and he would have appeared the copycat.

  2. All a bit low-grade today. (Well-deserved nap for Paul Romain btw!)
Today’s Nap: Porterinthejungle (2.15 Brighton 15/8) , good chance of completing a 4-timer, not much oppo.
Next Best: Bagan (6.05 Strat, 5/2) would have won at the track last time out but for unseating. Hopefully lightning won’t strike twice.

  3. Boom the Groom is probably short enough in the Brighton 4.47 but surely this race will allow him to dominate from the front and win comfortably? Here’s hoping.

  4. 5.15 Ballinrobe –

Born to rule 9-1 EW 5 places

Got a bit lucky last time when I was sitting watching a few races and seen this son of born to the sea was 20-1 plus. Form didn’t add up to much but was starting off in a weak hurdles race after ok runs on the flat. I got my stake on and then It got backed into 8-1 and looked to be going well before getting caught up with and then fighting back on the line.
Connections must have had thier heart in their mouth. Steps up 2F and I’d say he should there abouts if they want him to be. Maybe one to Watch in the market

  6. Let Her Flow looks a very good shout, Mr Cheaux7. Notable jockey booking. Now that I’ve had a coffee and a chance to study the Ballinrobe card i’ll try it in a lucky 15 with Fancy a Cosmo (4.40), Baltinglass Hill (5.15) and Ennemi Public (7.45).
