Talking Horses Wednesday August 25th 2021

Luke from Reinitinracing had a cracking day yesterday, landing his nap here on this blog – Noble Seal at 8/1, and, on the Reinitinracing blog, that one and two more winners at 9/1 and 100/30. A solid way to stamp the Hitlist, Luke. Great work.

Imrahor, 14/1 in the morning, was placed for Jonathan Dawe who made it his EW bet. Nice one, JD.

David is still in amazingly consistent form and landed another nap with Emaraty Hero at 2/1. Some run you are on, David.

And Swift at 7/2 wins for Mickle, which, as with most of our posters, could well indicate a run of good selections coming up as a line of form is hit again. Well done, Mickle.

For the second successive day the blog’s nap finished runner up … I think they’re getting the idea now what they should be doing.

If I’ve missed anyone, please give me a shout via the August Winners thread.

The blog’s nap today is Poet’s Eye at 7/2 in the 7.05Wolverhampton

As ever, please leave your naps/tips by making a comment below. All welcome, especially newcomers; just enter a name when asked so we know who is who. No prizes, but it’s good fun here among some seasoned punters, most of whom spent years commenting at the Guardian on the original Talking Horses forum, which has now been heavily cut back.

If you tip a winner, please use the Winners thread to highlight your result and we’ll put you on the Hitlist next day. There is a Winners thread for each month.

We also have a Lounge thread for general chat, though as a forum we are a bit limited to what WordPress, our host here, provides as far as structure goes.

Thanks for looking in. Good luck with your bets today, but please bear in mind that this is meant to be ‘fun’. There are many wise heads posting tips here and we haven’t yet gone a day without somebody tipping a winner. But never bet more than you can afford to lose. Small stakes can still produce wide smiles.

All the best
Joe

  1. Having won as a nap for me last time out, I’ll have to stick with quercus (catterick) 15:30 for today’s nap. Motawaazy (another previous nap) is NB in the race before (15:00). Singles and double.

  2. Was going to plump for Motawaazy but looks a bit short now (will be backing at evens if available) so Mr Strutter in the 4.35 at Catterick is the selection.

Congrats to yesterday’s winners, some seriously good tipping there.

I might come back with a NB (to be avoided) later…

I really enjoy the naps from you all, not just because they win more than mine, but that it’s makes me think about horses I may not have considered before. I really miss UK racing in person, but hope to get over early next year and get to a racecourse.

  6. I see the one meeting per day rule is to be extended . I always thought that what some jockeys did in this regard was bonkers . Wonder how the likes of LD voted with access to helicopters ?
