Ahoy Señor The Nap

Long time readers might recall that my last 4 ‘nap-of-the-festival’ all won. I’m going for five in a row today and am going with a horse I have long championed despite his ups and downs – Ahoy Senor.

Ahoy Senor seems finally to be realising his potential. He was 2nd last year in the Brown Advisory to L’Homme Presse, having got outpaced before running on well again. I suspect the same will happen here in the Gold Cup: he will lead or be very prominent until they head for the third last, where he will struggle to stay with the leaders. He could drop back to 4th or 5th, but he will run on again as meets the hill and be catching them hand over fist after the last. Hopefully, with the ground being on the testing side, he will pass the leader before the post. He might not have the class of a few of his rivals, but I’ll bet he has more stamina. He gallops and stays. His jumping is improving too. He’s out to 25/1 now. You can back him EW to 5 places with Skybet at 22/1 – excellent value. For me, for the blog, it is win only, this nap, as have been the past four.

Good luck

Joe

My usual warning. Anything I put up as a tip here is for ‘fun money’ – stakes you can afford to lose almost without even thinking about it.  There’s just as much fun to be had with small stakes.

  1. Good moring Joe, I need to send you over £10 for the Cheltenham competition (I think I might just about have a tenner left after a difficult week’s punting). Apologies, but I’ve just got back from the Cotswolds. best regards, Leo
