There’s a competitive looking handicap at Carlisle on Sunday at 4.45, and I am keen on Westy Fox, a recent Irish import to Micky Hammond’s yard. In his first run for the yard in December over about this trip, he went really well to finish 3rd. 3m3f seemed just a bit too far for him last time, though he ran well for a long way.
His ace in the hole in this race is that he is the only one in the field whose best performance has come on a right handed, galloping, testing track on heavy ground; exactly what he gets today. Bet365 offer – in their extra place markets – 15/1 about him to be in the first 4, and 12/1 to be in the first 5. Most bookies go just 11/1 to 3 places. I’ve backed him EW for the first 4 and the first 5 with Bet365, and he is a strongly recommended bet EW.
Good luck
Joe
